Every practitioner training in this space is taught either by a clinician or by a person with lived experience. Not both. Not together. Not as co-equals walking into the same room with the same curriculum and demonstrating, by their very presence, that collaboration is not a philosophy, it is a practice.
“Foundations for the Frontline” is a practitioner training series for anyone working on the front lines with justice-impacted people: SUD counselors, peer support specialists, case managers, youth workers, social workers, coaches, and mentors. It is the only training of its kind co-facilitated by a licensed clinician and a person with lived justice experience, because we believe those two forms of expertise are not in competition. They are the whole answer. You will leave with tools grounded in trauma science, sharpened by real-world credibility, and delivered by two people who prove by showing up together that collaboration is not a philosophy. It is a practice.
SUD counselors, peer mentors, youth workers, and case managers have been trained in silos. Clinicians by clinicians, peers by peers, for decades. The result is a workforce that is either credentialed but disconnected from the people they serve, or deeply connected but under-resourced.
That gap does not just affect providers. It affects every person they serve.
Tools grounded in trauma science and sharpened by real-world credibility. A framework for understanding behavior before trying to change it. Relational practices that build trust, not just compliance. And the lived proof that collaboration is not a philosophy. It is a practice.
