We don't punish setbacks. We build strategies for comebacks.
Being young is intense. There is pressure to perform, pressure to belong, and pressure to succeed. Sometimes that pressure leads to choices that contradict your goals. Sometimes it leads to pain that has nowhere to go.
The Collaborators Den exists for both of those moments. Two groups, one foundation: regulation, relationship, and the belief that behavior has meaning.
Stress and substance use are connected. This group addresses both.
Using Mindfulness-Based Substance Abuse Treatment principles, this structured small-group program gets underneath behavior to understand it. Not to shame it. To change it. Young people are not here because something is wrong with them. They are here because stress found them before skills did.
Over six to twelve weekly sessions, young people build the ability to recognize stress in the body before it becomes a reaction, practical tools for staying grounded when everything around them is at a ten, honest awareness of why substances show up and what they are actually trying to solve, and the connection between daily choices and the future they actually want for themselves.
Confidential. Structured. Relationship-centered. Designed to live inside any setting as a meaningful alternative to punishment
Skills for life. Not just survival.
Young people are navigating more than most adults acknowledge. Trauma, stress, identity, belonging, grief, conflict — often without the tools to process any of it. The result is not bad behavior. It is unmet need expressing itself the only way it knows how.
The Youth Connection Group addresses the full picture. Through narrative therapy, social-emotional learning, and trauma-informed group work, young people build self-awareness, emotional regulation, and the relational skills that change trajectories. The ability to name what they are feeling before it becomes a reaction. Communication skills that replace conflict. A relationship with their own story that builds identity instead of shame.
This is prevention in its truest form. Not a reaction to a crisis. An investment before one.
Both groups are designed to live inside your existing framework. Schools. Community centers. Churches. Boys and Girls Clubs. Parks and recreation programs. Youth nonprofits. Juvenile detention facilities. Anywhere young people are, the Den can go.
The goal was never just to keep young people out of trouble. It was always to give them something worth staying for.
